The Rotary Club of Rumuomasi has Chartered an Interact Club at the Community Senior Secondary Rumuomasi.
President of the Rotary Club Rumuomasi Dickson Usen while presenting the Charter certificate to the Charter President of the Interact Club of CSS Rumuomasi, Itebie Favor said the purpose of Interact is to provide opportunity for young people to work together in a world fellowship dedicated to service and international understanding.
Usen explained that Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self.
On her part the Rotary International District 9141, Assistant Governor zone one, Blessing Timothy while decorating the Interact Club Charter President, advised her to always be a good example to her classmates by doing what is right. She said Rotary represents integrity, honesty and other good vices.
Assistant Governor Blessing Timothy also advised the Interact Charter President to carry out projects that will positively impact on their school.
Responding, the Vice Principal, Academics, of CSS Rumuomasi Chinwendu Chimo said the Rotary Club of Rumuomasi has really impacted on the school with it’s human capacity projects like building of toilet facilities, planting of economic trees and provision of toiletries for the school toilet facility.
“We are overwhelmed here, the Rotary Club of Rumuomasi is now a household name here in this school. This new Interact Club means a lot to the children. It will help them recognize and develop constructive leadership and personal integrity”, she stated..
