Chief of Defence Staff,( CDS) General Lucky Irabor has said there is no truth whatsoever about reports being peddled in some quaters that the Armed Forces was planning to topple the administration of President Buhari saying ” We have learned our lessons over the years and we have come to the conclusion that coups will do us more harm than good”
Irabor who disclosed this on Friday at a virtual media chat tagged’ Open Ears Dialogue, said knowing the evils of coup, the leadership of the Armed Forces are committed to educating its personnel against coups adding that there is no reason whatsoever for anyone to contemplate such.
Also,the CDS told politicians to leave the Military out of politics and refrain from selling the idea of coup plots to anyone.
” In the same vein, the leadership of the Armed Forces is also telling politicians to leave us alone.Do not mix us up with issues that have to do with politics and do not use political inclination and persuasion to want to lure anybody from the armed forces into the idea of having to undertake coups and all”
