Birthdays are special days celebrated to appreciate and express love to those around us .
21st March is exceptional and special as family, friends and church celebrate a great woman, Super Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother, Mrs Oribi Eugene Wakama nee Chieduko,who is a year older this day.
Mummy Oribi is a retired Director of the Ministry of Education,Rivers State.
She had her primary school at St Martin’s School,Ogu in Ogu/ Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State. After a brilliant performance leading to completion of education at the primary school level,she proceeded to the famous Archdeacon Crowder Memorial Girls High School ( ACMGS) Elelenwo for her secondary school education. She is reputedly acknowledged as the first woman in the history of Ogu town to have a school certificate..
Her quest for higher education took her first, to the Rivers State College of Education where she secured her certificate of Nigeria Certificate of Education ( NCE) and later, to the prestigious citadel of learning- University of Ibadan where she obtained her first and second degrees in Language Education.
Mummy Oribi is a teacher of men, women and children. She is a disciplinarian who spares not the rod to spoil the child. She is a great philanthropist, she helps the needy- orphans,widows and indigent people to the best of her ability. She is an adent believer of Jesus Christ and dedicated to the work of God, She has led many to Christ through the Salvation Ministry’s home cell in her William Jumbo Street, Port Harcourt residence. The home cell is also a viewing centre for the popular Salvation Ministry’s programme” Glory Rain” formerly called” Five Nights of Glory”.
She is described as a role model in her family and others she impacted affection, as young and old seek her wise counsel. To the church, she is an embodiment of love, a woman who praises God with an imposing sonorous voice singing to worship God. She is indeed a beautiful mother with a heart of gold,a God sent.
On this special day, Her Children,Mrs Tonye Dammy Dede,Mrs Nene Nyingierefaka Onichaboh, Mr Biebele Wakama,Mr Tekena Wakama,Oribi Jnr and Mr Eugene jnr, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren with many more on the way and a host of relations and friends wish you more years of wisdom,joy and gladness and fulfilment of other desires of your heart.
