The National Assembly leadership has asked the Executive of the All Progressives Congress ( APC ) to consider giving automatic tickets to performing National Assembly members saying they deserve it having worked harmoniously with them.
Speaking at the National Executive Committee ( NEC) meeting attended by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Vice President,Yemi Osinbajo and others at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on Wednesday, Senate President, Ahmed Lawan and House Speaker,Femi Gbajiabiamila said given the cordial relations existing between the National Assembly and the Executive,it was proper for hard working members to be given special treat.
The Senate President said” We expect our party to note that we have done so much in terms of performance and working cooperatively and assiduously with the Executive and all leaders in government from the realisation of our mandate for our manifestos, policies and programmes of our government.I think the National Assembly members of APC deserved a special treat”.
Speaking in the same vein, Speaker Gbajiabiamila said” If someone has made the zeal,I believe it is time for another term for that person.
” I believe that it is the experience that members of the National Assembly have gathered that made them perform well. So,I like to say they deserve another term” he said.
