The Zamfara State Government has officially dethroned three traditional leaders it suspended in June 2021 over involvement in acts of banditry in the state.
This was disclosed by the State Commissioner of Information,Mr Ibrahim Magaji Dosara and his counterpart in Security and Internal Affairs,Mr Mamman Tsafe immediately after the State Executive Council meeting in Government House,Gusau on Wednesday.
The Commissioners said that the decision was taken” after careful examination of the reports submitted by the two commitees to the State Government.”
The dethroned traditional leaders have been in detention since last year after they were accused of banditry and arrested on the orders of the state government.
The government also approved the revocation of lands allocated to non indigenes which have been occupied illegally by the occupants without going through due process.
