Two persons on Wednesday afternoon lost their lives following violence at the Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) along Woji Road,Port Harcourt
The APC currently has three factions, the Amaechi faction,Abe’s faction and Amachree faction.
Current matters gathered that trouble started when some members loyal to a faction arrived at the party Secretariat gate in the morning for screening and discovered that the gate was locked and the entire process had been hijacked.
A source who claimed to be a member of the party and pleaded anonymity said some persons were already at the party secretariat when other groups arrived but were unable to gain access because of the lock.
” They forced the gate open and the police shot to disperse them but unfortunately, about two persons died and many were injured.
Another account however said only one person was killed.
The APC had fixed today for screening of delegates that would elect those who will fly the party’s flag at the 2023 general election.
