Attempt by a former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC in Taraba State, Alhaji Ibrahim El- Sudi to bribe delegates to vote for his preferred candidate in Thursday’s gubernatorial primaries met stiff resistance as angry party men reportedly seized him and gave him a severe beating and took away wads of cash in his vehicle.
Aggrieved members of the APC had taken El- Sudi to Court in what they alleged was high handedness and misconduct and he was ordered to vacate his seat.
He tried to dissolve the executive of APC in the five local Governments in Southern Taraba in favour of Senator Bacha who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to the All Progressives Congress APC, but the court stopped it.
Meanwhile,the Party’s gubernatorial primary has been put on hold
The suspension came after a meeting of stakeholders with the State Commissioner of Police on Thursday evening agreed that it should be suspended.
