
Former Vice President and Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP is to appear in court soon as a Constitutional Lawyer,Mr Johnmsry Jideolu has approached the Federal High Court in Abuja to challenge his eligibility to contest the 2023 presidential election.
In a suit marked FHC/ ABJ/C$ / 751/2022, the plaintiff said that Atiku is not constitutionally qualified to participate in the presidential election.
On the basis of that, the Lawyer is seeking seven principal reliefs against Atiku, PDP, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC and the Attorney- General of the Federation who were cited as1st 2nd , 3rd and 4th defendants in the suit.
Mr Jideolu said Section 1(1) &(2)25 and 131 ( a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,1999(as amended) provides “that only a Nigerian citizen by birth can contest for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’
