Attackers are Malianss trained in Libya, Gov Akeredolu says
Scores of worshippers were gunned down by armed men on Sunday morning at the St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
It was learnt that the gunmen stormed the church during morning mass and opened fire on the congregation killing scores of worshippers.
Many were severely wounded and rushed to the Federal Medical Center,Owo for treatment.
A source told our reporter that the gunmen attacked the church and disappeared immediately leaving no clue of their identities.
Reacting to the tragic incident, the State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu ( SAN) has assured that the perpetrators of the dastard act will be brought to justice.
He said that the attackers were Malians trained in Libya..
It was gathered that the attack was a message sent to the state governor on his stance against open grazing and power shift.
