The Bible Society of Nigeria has sent a team to Okrika, headquarters of the Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State to record the Okrika Language Bible on Audio.
The Team arrived Okrika about a week ago and will be there in the next five to six weeks or even more depending on the speed of work.
A statement by the Chairman,Rivers/ Bayelsa Area Bible Society of Nigeria, Elder Omoni Ayo- Tamuno said the Bible Society of Nigeria has a part to play by providing manpower or technical support and final production of the Audio Okrika Language Bible.
He said ” the Okrika Nation as a host community also has a huge responsibility to actualise this project which involves finance and other logistics.
“The project is for the overall benefit of the Wakirike Nation, the Church and would also promote our culture and tradition as a people.
“As I make this appeal, the Bishop of the Diocese of Okrika, His Lordship, Rt Rev Enoch Atuboyedia has committed so much to this project and more financial support is urgently needed.
“The Project is not just for the Anglican Community but for all churches that are the immediate beneficiaries as it will expand God’s Kingdom work.
“I therefore, in all sense of humility appeal to other Church Heads within the Wakirike Nation and outside to please rally round the Bishop to successfully execute this project.
“I also respectfully appeal to well meaning sons and daughters of Wakirike Nation to get in touch with the Bishop and donate generously to this project.
“Let us all join hands and make the production of the Okrika Language Audio Bible a reality.
