…..As Police mount rescue operation for kidnapped Jebba Priest and wife.
Kidnappers of the Catholic Priest in charge of St Anthony’s Parish,Angware in Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State,Rev James Kantoma are demanding a N50m ransom.
Rev Kantoma was abducted on Sunday night at his house within the community when the gunmen stormed the area and abducted him.
Confirming the incident, Chairman of the Plateau State Christian Association of Nigeria ( CAN) Rev Father Polycarp Lubo said the abductors have made contacts and are demanding the sum of N50M for his release.
The abducted priest is also the chairman of CAN in the Local Government Area.
Kidnappers also on the same day abducted an Anglican Bishop, Reverend Oluwaseun Aderogba of Jebba Diocese, Kwara State,his wife and driver
According to a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer,Adewale Osifeso ,one Reverend Adekinle Adeluwa reported the incident at Atiba Divisional Police Headquarters.
Osifeso said preliminary investigation revealed that the incident happened when the victims’ vehicle developed a mechanical problem while traveling from Yewa in Ogun State to Jebba in Kwara.
He added that the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Command has been directed to lead the rescue operation .
