The Translators and Technical Team of the on going recording of the Okrika Language Bible have been lauded for their speed and devotion to the work.
This remark was made by the Chairman of the Bible Society of Nigeria, Rivers/Bayelsa Area, Elder Omoni Ayo-Tamuno when he paid an unscheduled visit to the Team at the Saint Peter’s Cathedral, Okrika in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.
Elder Ayo-Tamuno who expressed satisfaction with the on going recording also praised the personal efforts of the Bishop of the Diocese of Okrika, Rt Rev Enoch Atuboyedia.
He said the Bishop passion of the Project had greatly contributed to the progress of the work and appealed to other denominational Heads within the Wakirike Territory to support this laudable project.
The Chairman said the Okrika Language Audio Bible when completed would add value to the expansion of God’s work and facilitate the understanding of the Okrika Language Bible.
Elder Ayo-Tamuno reiterated the commitment of the Bible Society of Nigeria to remained a vital and essential partner to the Church to grow the spread of the Gospel and make the Written Word of God to all people irrespective of any challenge.
In his speech, the Head of the Translation Team, the Venerable Godstime T. Orabere and the Resident Minister of Saint Gabriel Anglican Church, Bolo in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, disclosed that the Books of the Minor Prophets, Joshua, First Kings, First and Second Samuel had been recorded.
Venerable Orabere stated that First Chronicles had been concluded, while Second Chronicles was on going, saying, although the work was all demanding, the team would put in their best to do a quality work.
Speaking also, the Head of the Technical Team, Mr Yemi Adeniji unfold that with the level of work so far done, the project would be completed by the middle of next month – July 2022.
