In continuation with the series of activities marking the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL 2022), the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1, Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI, Major General W Shaibu says that the Nigerian Army will continue to render selfless service to its host communities as a way of giving back to the society.
He therefore charged members of Shuwari Community and the entire civil populace to reciprocate the Nigerian Army’s non kinetic effort in ensuring that peace is restored within the region.
General Shaibu made the appeal during the Distribution of Palliatives and Free Medical Outreach organised by the Division in commemoration of the NADCEL 2022 in Maiduguri.
He further mentioned that the gesture is in fulfilment of the Nigerian Army’s Corporate Social Responsibility, boosting the Civil-Military Relationship as well as giving back to the society.
In his words “It is an opporrtunity for the Nigerian Army to celebrate and honour our officers and men who have distinguished themselves as well as our fallen heroes, who have paid the supreme price in service of our father land. While commending the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Farouk Yayaha for his exemplary leadership and continuous support to the Division, he also commended officers and troops of the Nigerian Army on the occasion of NADCEL 2022.
While delivering his remarks, the Special Guest of Honour, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Borno State, Dr Muhammad Ghuluze, applauds the Nigerian Army on the occasion of NADCEL 2022 and states that “this kind gesture to host communities especially the less privilege and vulnerable in the society is highly commendable”.
He further stated that the government and people of Borno State will continue to appreciate the Nigerian Army and also support them in all aspect of their activities and operations.
The symbolic presentations of palliatives were conducted by the Special Guest of Honour and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health Borno State, Dr. Muhammad Ghuluze, Theatre Commander Joint Task Force North East OPHK, Major General CG Musa, who was represented by the Theatre Logistics Component Commander (TLCC), Brigadier General EH Akpan and the GOC 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 OPHK, Major General W Shaibu.
The occasion was witnessed by Formation and Unit Commanders, Principal Staff Officers from Headquarters 7 Division, Senior Officers, officers, Medical Professionals from 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital, State Ministry of Health and troops of the Division.
