All Progressives Congress (APC )Presidential Candidate,Bola Ahmed Tinubu has chosen the immediate past governor of Borno State, Kassim Shettima as his running mate, current matters authoritatively gathered.
The choice of Shettima puts to rest the search for a running mate for lthe APC flagbearer.
Shettima is to be unveiled anytime this week.
Shettima is the Senator representing Borno Central in the National Assembly.
His endorsement of Tinubu as APC presidential candidate was gratifying for a vice presidential ticket reward.
On January 17,2022, Shettima, at a Tinubu Support Group press conference described Tinubu as a strong leader and detribalised Nigerian who built his party and endorsed presidential candidates from the North while others were pursuing ethnic interests
He added that it was time to reward him with the presidency.
” Asiwaju choices and endorsements of northerners as presidential candidates while others were masterminding ethno – regional solidarity and fueling socio – cultural affinities readily affirm his pan- Nigerian profile” He said.
Tinubu is paying a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari on Eid -El- Kabir on Sunday in Daura where his running mate is expected to be handed over to him by the president.
