Ahead of 2023 General Election,, the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Sea Port has commissioned a Peace bill board by the head quarters office the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Rivers State.
President of the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Sea Port Rotarian Prince Jenewari Eleki who led members of the club to unveil and commission the large Peace bill board said “As a humanitarian service organisation, Peace and Conflict Resolution is a cornerstone of our mission. We believe that when people work to create peace in their communities that change can have a global effect”..
“The Peace billboard which is a continuity of our Peace Campaign also preaches against drug abuse, kidnapping, cultism and election violence”.
On his part, the Administrative Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Rivers State Mr. Richstar Alabraba While commending the club for the gesture, encourage members of the club to continue to preach peaceful co-existence especially towards the election period.
He said the bill board will indeed keep reminding people to embrace peace and shun violence.
Director, Projects, of the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Sea Port, Boma Talbot assured that Rotary is committed to building lasting peace in its host communities.
