The Niger State Police Command has alerted the public iof a robbery incident that took place at a GSM store along Morocco road , Suleja on Saturday.
In a statement, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the Command’s Spokesman, said the robbers carted away unspecified number of handsets from the store but on sighting the police, the robbers abandoned the vehicle and ran into the forest.
“Niger State Police Command wishes to inform members of the public that today being 30/07/2022 at about 1300hrs, suspected armed robbers of about five in numbers attacked a GSM store along Morocco road, Suleja shooting sporadically with pistol and carted away some numbers of handsets from the store.
“Upon the receipt of information about the incident, Police operatives attached to Suleja Area Command were quickly mobilized to the scene while the robbers hurriedly drove off in a Peugeot 406 with Reg. No. ABJ 467 GX and after a hot chase towards the military checkpoint by Zuma rock, the robbers abandoned the vehicle and took to their heels into the forest.
“However, the Police and military operatives are on the trail of the fleeing robbers with a view to arrest the hoodlums.
“The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Monday Bala Kuryas, fsi urges members of the public not to panic as security operatives are on top of the situation and further development will be made public
