The Presidential Candidate of Labour party ( LP), Peter Obi, has paid yet another visit to Rivers Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
Although details of the meeting which held at the governor’s Obio/ Akpor home, was not made available, it was gathered that the duo met behind closed doors and discussion may not be unconnected with seeking Wike ‘s support for his( Obi) election in 2023.
The visit is the third by the LP presidential candidate to the governor since he picked the Labour party presidential ticket
Though opinion polls put Obi at edge of other contestants, the fact remains that he is not taking any chances as he criss- crosses the length and breath of the country visiting traditional rulers, former military rulers, prominent politicians from other parties and entertainers to sell his Obi- Datti product to them.
Recall that Obi in company of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo had paid a visit to Wike in London where it was alleged that Obasanjo pursuaded Wike to support the Labour party candidate.
The infighting in the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),is also opening the doors for poaching by rival political strongmen.
