…. says Nigeria reduced to nothing under President’s watch
A retired Military Intelligence Officer, Captain David Mbamara said the seven and half years of Buhari ‘s administration is a slap on the once enviable Nigerian state.
Speaking on Arise TV, Saturday the retired Officer said the administration is an embarrassment particularly to the Army, Buhari’s primary constituency
According to him under Buhari’s watch Nigeria became backward in crude oil production and Nigeria becomes the only country producing crude oil that imports fuel with NNPC staff who are not working being paid regular salaries.
He queried the rationale behind the payment of salaries to non working NNPC staff while on the other hand, the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU who are asking for payment of their salaries are denied theirs for being on strike.
Mbamara said that the reason why the government is not doing well is because” Buhari is an ethnic President “
Mbamara regretted that under seven and half years of Buhari’s administration Companies such as Ajaokuta Steel Limited which should provide jobs and stimulate the economy was not seriously by the Buhari administration.
He called on Nigerian youths to take back the country and shun anyone that uses ethnicity and religion to divide the country and perpetually subdue the poor.
The ex- soldier lamented the scale of insecurity in the country and blamed the issue on political leadership.
He absolved the Nigerian Army of any wrong doing describing it as one of the best in the world , which does not lack training and fighting skills .
“The Nigerian Army doesn’t joke with training.
“This is the same Nigerian Army that went to Liberia and liberated Liberia, this is the same army that went to Sierra Leone and liberated Sierra Leone This is the same army that went to Congo the Nigerian Army doctrine has not changed.our training manners have not changed. The Nigerian Army remains one of the best in the world.,I can assure you that. What is lacking is political leadership.” He said.
Asked if he was a follower of the Obi-dient movement, Mbamara answered in the affirmative saying he had to join the third force because of the disappointment of the present All Progressives Congress government and that of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP before it.
While he gave kudos to the Buhari administration for the second Niger bridge constructed under partnership,he said the bridge project is not too much for a region in the administration’s development index for over seven years.
He lamented that under the present administration the naira has weakened to such unbearable level adding if the Obi Presidency is realized and Obi messed up within three years of his administration,he would be the first to call for his ouster.
