Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has asked the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Iyorcha Ayu to resign from office.
CUPP ‘s Spokesman,Ikenga Ugochinyere said this in a statement on Friday.
He said the corruption and bribery allegations against Ayu are too weighty to allow the National Chairman to continue in office
He described Ayu as arrogant, divisive and one who abuses due process saying he is unfit to remain in office.
Ugochinyere who is a member of the PDP and candidate for the Ideato North and South Federal Constituency of Imo State said the removal of the party’s National Chairman would give a sense of belonging to members from the south and growth of the party adding that the organization would meet with the Atiku and Governor Wike to work out a plan that would speedily resolve the crisis in the party.
“The corruption and bribery allegation against Ayu have presented a huge credibility problem for PDP, the removal of Ayu will offer a new confidence in rebuilding the party. I have times without number appealed to Ayu and the party’s national secretary, Anyanwu not to drag the image of the Party to the mud and cried at the briefing that PDP is facing a marketing challenges with Ayu still in office.
“Ayu is a man who is arrogant, divisive, abuses due process and unfit to remain in office”, he said.
