The Management of the Rivers State University has banned indecent dressing for male and female students.
A statement signed by Dr S. C Enyinda,,Registrar, Secretary to Senate said” the ban is sequel to a memo presented by the Committee of Provosts and Deans and considered by Senate st its 291st Regular Meeting held on Thursday ,29th September,2022.
According to the statement, students are by the ban which is with immediate effect, now prohibited to dress
inappropriately.
Categories of dressing banned include spaghetti gowns,short dresses above the knee, wearing of nose rings for female students, wearing of earrings by male students and colouring of hair by both male and female students.
Others are wearing of long eye lashes by female students, sagging trousers for male and female students,Tatoos for male and female students.
Also banned are wearing of bon shorts, slippers to the classroom, wearing of tatared jean trousers by Male and Female Students, wearing of ankle chains and gowns/ blouses that expose the breast and navel of female students.
The statement advised all students to comply with the directive.
