The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company ( PHED) said the recent interruptions in power supply in some parts of Port Harcourt was caused by a fire incident on Thursday morning at the Port Harcourt Town Transmission Station ( Z4- Nzimiro ).
The management in a statement said “some TCN and PHED facilities were affected ( Ino 30MVA,33/11KV and a Grounding( Station Aux.)
” Consequently, power supply to old GRA – Government House ,D- Line,UST,Port Harco urt Township,Borokiri, UTC) Reclamation,Ada George ,Agip, some parts of Sani Abacha Rd,parts of Iwofe ,Miles 1,2 & 3 will be out of supply temporarily.
“Meanwhile,a combined team from PHED and TCN are already working assiduously to restore supply to the affected areas.
” We regret every inconvenience the unforseen situation has caused our customers and assure all that as soon as work is completely, power supply will be restored “
