A court sitting in Abuja has ordered the interim forfeiture of 40 landed properties belonging to embattled Senator,Ike Ekweremadu who is facing trial in the United Kingdom(UK) over alleged organ trafficking.
The properties under interim forfeiture are ten in Enugu, three in the United States, two in the UK, one in Lagos, nine in Dubai and fifteen in the Federal Capital Territory FCT Abuja.
Justice Inyang Ekwo gave the order on Friday while ruling on an ex -parte motion moved by Ibrahim Buba in a suit marked FHC/ ABJ/ CS/1242/ 2022 he filed on behalf of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Justice Ekwo ordered the EFCC to publish the interim forfeiture of the properties in a national daily within seven days from the day the order was given.
The trial judge asked anyone interested in the properties covered by the interim forfeiture to indicate interest within 14 days of the publication of the interim forfeiture order of the court.
He adjourned the case until December 5,2022 for a report ,if there is any objection from any member of the public regarding the properties.
