The Diocese of Okrika of the Anglican Communion has been lauded for taking the Front Seat in supporting the programmes and activities of the Bible Society of Nigeria.( BSN).
The Chairman of the Bible Society of Nigeria Rivers/ Bayelsa Area, Elder Omoni Ayo- Tamuno made the commendation in Okrika today at the Saint Peter’s Cathedral during the presentation of Special Membership Certificate to the Hon Justice Sobere and Lady Grace Sobere KSC.
Elder Ayo-Tamuno specifically commended the Bisiop of the Okrika Diocese, the Rt Revd Enoch Atuboyedia JP for giving directives to all churches in the Diocese to work and cooperate with the BSN.
The Chairman further commended the Bishop for being the first in Nigeria to appoint a Chaplain for the BSN which had further strengthened the relationship with the support ..
He appealed to other denominational heads within and outside the Anglican Communion for a sustained and cordial relationship with the BSN.
Elder Ayo-Tamuno welcomed the Hon Justice Biambo and his wife into the highest level of membership of the Society which he said was an indication of acceptability and support by the Nigerian Society.
The Chairman called on very important personalities of the Cathedral to enroll as Special Members of the Society including the President of the Boys Brigade of Nigeria, Rivers State Council, Barrister Golden Tamuno who presented the Special Member Certificate to the Hon Justice Biambo.
Speaking later in his acceptance speech, the Hon Justice Sobere KSC thanked the Society for admitting him and his wife as Special Members.
Justice Biambo pledged to support the Society to achieve its aims and objectives.
