Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has urged the people of Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state to reciprocate the many infrastructural dividends of his administration to the area by going to their units and ensure the victory of all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the state win the February 25 and March 11 elections.
Wike spoke at the flag off of the Consolidation campaign at Omagwa, in Ikwerre Local Government Area on Tuesday.
The governor said his government has made life easy in line with the dictum that ” Governance is to make life easy for the people”
According to him, When his administration came on board, it made a promise of opening internal roads assuring that the administration has done all internal roads in Aluu,Umagwa,Elele, Omerelu among others and also built Standard Model schools in Ubima and Omuanwa communities in the LGA.
Wike , while appreciating the people of the LGA for their firm commitment to his administration,even in the face of what he called intimidation by federal might, enjoined them to demonstrate their love again by voting massively for all the PDP candidates in the area and the state.
Also speaking, the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Simiialayi Fubara said the Ikwerre Local Government Area gave the Wike administration votes in 2015 and in 2019, gave it a confidence vote and appealed that they repeat the same faith again by voting for the party in 2023.
Fubara said ” continue to support us for continuity and consolidation” According to him, Health services will be supported and upgraded while his administration would fix the remaining roads in the LGA
Earlier, the Director General of the Consolidation of the New Rivers Vision,2023 campaign Council,Mr Felix Obuah had said no governor had done what Wike has done for the state which is why the slogan ” Consolidation was carefully chosen for the campaign.
In his remark, the Chairman of the Local Government Council,Dr Samuel Nwanosike assured that the election of the candidates of the party was a done deal adding that on 25 March,2023, the people will give their votes to their candidates and for the presidential, vote wherever the governor directs them to vote.
A major highlight was the presentation of party flags to candidates by the Chairman of the PDP in the state, Ambassador Desmond Akawor.
