Seven persons including two village heads have been arrested over the train attack in Igueben,Edo State on January 7,2023.
The Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare who said this while speaking with journalists in Benin City on Wednesday disclosed that those “arrested in Connecticut with the incident are helping with investigations “
He also said the two remaining victims of the train abduction have also been rescued.
Gunmen suspected to be bandits kidnapped passengers waiting to board a train at the train station in Igueben LGA of the state, to Warri in Delta state.
About 30 people were reportedly kidnapped including two employees of the train station, but the state government claimed that intelligence report put the number of abducted victims at 20 .

“The success story in the kidnapping is that five persons and two village chiefs have been arrested in connection with the incident and they are helping with investigations,” he said.
