Hundreds of residents have trooped out to celebrate the victory of the winner of the March 18 gubernatorial election in Kano state.
The development comes amid the announcement of a dawn-to-dusk curfew imposed by the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje on Monday.
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje had reportedly imposed the curfew r to avoid a breakdown of law and order following INEC’s declaration of Abba Kabir , NNPP’s candidate as the winner of the governorship election.
The state commissioner for information and Internal Affairs ,Muhammad Garba who, made the announcement in a statement on Monday.said the decision was to prevent hoodlums from causing chaos in the already tense situation.
The commissioner called on people in the state to remain indoors as security agents would not spare anyone, or a group bent on causing trouble.
Abba Yusuf was declared winner in Saturday’s governorship election in the state, beating the candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC and Deputy Governor ,Nasir Gawuna at the poll.
