Former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha has withdrawn from the November 2023 State Governorship Race.
His withdrawal is contained in a letter addressed to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Secretariat and sited by our reporter on Tuesday.
Ihedioha, a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives was sacked by the Supreme Court in 2020 a few months after he was sworn into office as governor of Imo State.
Although the decision of the former governor had not been made clear, it was gathered that it may not be unconnected to the support his other kinsman and National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu enjoys from his ethnic nationality.
The ethnic group,Mbaise, which the duo come from had reportedly passed a vote of confidence on Anyanwu.
