Seven members of the National Working Committee NWC of the Labour Party ( LP) on Thursday appointed the National Vice Chairman ( South), Lamidi Bashir Apapa as the Acting National Chairman of the party.
Apapa’s appointment followed a Court order restraining four principal officers, including the National Chairman, Julius Abure
The court had barred Abure from parading as the chairman of the party while also restraining the National Secretary, National Organising Secretary and the National Treasurer from office.
Justice Hamza Muazu who gave the ruling had said that the order remains in place pending the hearing of the substantive suit on April 17.
Meanwhile, Apapa has said that the NWC reviewed the suspension of its officials at the meeting as police mobilised to the secretariat of the party to forestall any break down of law and order.
