The Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development has said that the seven-storey building under construction which collapsed on Banana Island in the Ikoyi area of the state was not approved.
Current matters gathered that there was no deaths but some workers received injuries .
The incident reportedly occurred on First Avenue on Wednesday evening.
According to a statement issued by the Deputy Director, Public Affairs,Mukalia Sanusi, “Few who sustained injuries are being treated. There is no fatality. This unfortunate incident happened while casting was being done,”
The statement noted that the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development,. Tayo Bamgbose-Martins, visited the site “immediately” to assess the situation
It asked “members of the public to remain calm and expect further information from the ministry .
