Governor of Bayelsa state,Duoye Diri has explained why the state looks forward to monthly allocation from the Federal Government.
Speaking on Arise TV program, “The Morning Show” Thursday, the governor said that the state depends on the allocation from the Federal Government because the allocations so distributed, are proceeds from resources taken away from the state.
He said, Bayelsa state is the goose that lays the golden eggs and as such, collecting what is hers from the Federal Government was the right thing to do.
Diri, who triumphed at Wednesday ‘s State Congress as gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, attributes his victory at the Supreme Court that announced him the governor of the state as the miracle work of God.
He dismissed critics of his administration as” people who have eyes but cannot see, those who have ears but cannot hear “saying that they belong to the group of people who are hellbent on ruling the state.
The governor who said he has done well within three and half years said that he has done what no governor in the state could do in five years.
On whether he fears the roaring and rumbling of the opposition parties in the state in the November 11 election, Diri said that he is not scared adding Bayelsa is a PDP state and his performance will speak for him.
