The Federal Civil Service Commission has debunked reports of recruitment exercise for 2023/24, currently trending on the social media.
A statement by the Commission signed by the Chairman, Dr Mary Ogbe, says the management of the Federal Civil Service Commission wishes to inform the general public that the purported recruitment 2023/2024 exercise is a typical example of falsehood in its entirety and did not emanate from the Commission.
“The writer of this fake story, using his www.recruitmentfile.net to peddle his antics of misinforming the general public, particularly desperate job seekers, listed several steps/requirements for recruitment into the civil service; which are to say the least, confusing, misleading and disjointed: amongst which are Bank Verification Number (BVN) and disqualifying those with Physical Disability”, it explained.
The statement added that, “Premised on the foregoing, the Federal Civil Service Commission wishes to reaffirm its earlier Disclaimer statement that the suspension/embargo on recruitment into the Federal Civil Service is yet to be lifted by the Government”.
Secondly, according to the statement, the Commission has an established tradition of using the Television/Radio Stations and Newspapers to announce such an instance of national exercise; not the Social media.
“Furthermore, lastly, but not the least, Bank Verification Number (BVN) and discrimination against Nigerians with Physical Disability (PWDs) are never listed among formal requirements for recruitment into the Federal Civil Service”, the statement warned.
Dr Ogbe explained that for clarification and emphasis, the general public is hereby informed that the advertised recruitment on social media is untrue and should therefore be ignored and disregarded.
