The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will present Certificate of Return to re -elected governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Fintiri, and his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta.
INEC ‘s National Commissioner of Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye made this known in an interview on Arise TV on Wednesday
Few hours after, the electoral umpire took to its verified Twitter page and reiterated the announcement Fintiri ‘s certificate of return.
According to the commission, the governor elect and his deputy will receive their Certificates of Return at 3 pm at its headquarters, in Maitama Abuja,.
Adamawa state supplementary election was concluded Tuesday, April 18 in Yola, the state capital after a litany of showdowns between the ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP and the All Progressives Congress APC in the North East state.
The statement reads: “Following the conclusion of supplementary elections nationwide and the declaration of winners, the Commission will present certificates of return to the Adamawa State Governor and Deputy Governor-elect at 3pm today.
“Similarly, members of the National Assembly-elect (Senators and House of Representatives) will receive their certificates from 11am today. Venue: Conference Room, INEC Headquarters, Maitama, Abuja.
“Members of State Houses of Assembly- elect should contact our State offices for their Certificates.”
