Spokesperson of the defunct Bola Tinubu/ Shettima Campaign Council , Bayo Onanuga says there is no nepotism in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment of his service chiefs
His statement followed the reactions in some quarters that the recent appointment of Service Chiefs did not reflect federal character but more of Yoruba with the Igbo ethnic group deliberately excluded by President Bola Tinubu.
Taking to Twitter on Monday, to correct the impression, Onanuga argued that all regions were represented and posted a list of those appointed and the zones they come from.
According to him, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, National Security Adviser is from (North-Adamawa), Maj. Gen. C.G Musa, Chief of Defence Staff (North), Maj.Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff (South West), Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, Chief of Naval Staff (South East-Enugu), AVM H.B Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff (North), DIG Kayode Egbetokun Acting, Inspector-General of Police (South West), Maj. Gen. EPA Undiandeye Chief of Defense Intelligence, (South South- Obudu in Cross River state).
He told those accusing the Tinubu government of nepotism that the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla is from Igbo Eze North LGA of Enugu State, while Chief of Defense Intelligence, Maj. Gen. EPA Undiandeye is from Cross River and advised critics to try to get their information right before passing judgement.
