A former critic of President Bola Tinubu,Chief Bode George has scored the president high in performance within 3 weeks in office
George,a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said though it is too early to assess his performance, Tinubu has performed reasonably well within three weeks .
The former Military General and Administratior had recently changed his opinion on Tinubu and had indicated the willingness to serve in his administration by proxy.
It will be recalled that George, a Board of Trustees member of the PDP had vowed to leave Nigeria if Tinubu was declared winner of the 2023 presidential election, but he stayed on and continued his diatribes against the President who offered no response.
According to George, his criticism of the President was based on his wrong doing as governor of Lagos State between 1999- 2007 . He however admitted that the president is raising the bar of the office of President in the country.
“It’s not perfect but reasonable. At least, it is better than what we had known before when he was in Lagos. Maybe he was much younger at that time and had no experience but now, Lagos is not Abuja,”
The elder statesman also spoke about his party’s chances at the Election Petition Tribunal against Tinubu and expressed optimism for the outcome
“Let’s wait for the outcome of the judiciary. The process is not over. The day the process is over and the court pronounces him as the President, we have no way to fight but to pray for Nigeria,”
