….. Describes Late Bishop Gabriel Herbert Pepple as Colossus
The Governor of Rivers State Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has urged the body of Christ to continue to uphold the State Government in prayers because without prayers much cannot be achieved.
Governor Fubara stated this Tuesday during the Public Presentation of the Book titled “In His Service: A Chronicle of Bishop Gabriel Herbert Pepple”, at St Cyprian’s Anglican Church in Port Harcourt.
The Governor who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, reiterated, that the State Government will continue to partner with the church, noting that the church remains a strong pillar of support to his Administration.
“The Church is our strength, the Church is our pillar, the church is the positive energy we have and as a Government we love and appreciate the Church”. Governor Fubara quipped.
The State Chief Executive, who thanked the Niger Delta Diocese for immortalizing Late Bishop Gabriel Herbert Pepple, described him as a colossus that positively impacted on the lives of those who had the privilege of interacting with him.
“He was a man that motivated and inspired people through his preaching, there is no way you will listen to him and your life will not change. “The Governor stressed.
In his address, the Bishop of Niger Delta Diocese Rt. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Oko-Jaja, said as part of the one year memorial of the Late Bishop, the Diocese decided to honour him through a book publication that chronicles all the works that God had used him to do.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion Hon. Justice Biobele Georgewill, said the Late Bishop lived a selfless life worthy of emulation and expressed gratitude to the organizers of the event for successfully putting the programme together.
The book written by Charles Ogan,a Veteran Journalist and public analyst also had the Mingi of Nembe,His Majesty,King Edmund Dakoru and other VIPs in attendance..
