The Nigerian Senate has resumed the screening of the remaining Ministerial nominees .
On Monday, the Senate screened a total of 12 nominees out of which 10 of them were asked to take a bow.
The Senate President, Senator Godswiill Akpabio also made it clear that appearing before the Senate for screening does not translate to confirmation of the nominees.
On Tuesday, the Senate opened the screening with David Umahi, the Deputy Leader of the Senate and former governor of Ebonyi State.
The second to be screened was Adebayo Olawale Edun representing Ogun state.
Edun is the Special Adviser to the President on Monetary Policy.
Edun has a strong background in Economics, Public Finance and Corporate Finance amongst others
After giving a brief summary of himself, the Senators overwhelmingly agreed Edun was one of the persons Nigeria was looking for to turn the economy around given his background and track record as Commissioner for Finance in Lagos state where he, plugged leakages and fixed the economy of Lagos during the period the allocation of Lagos was seized.
” He was the man with uncommon combination of public and private service experience.”they remarked.
He thanked the Senators for believing in him and said he would not disappoint the country..
