Former Minister of state for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo SAN is having a tough time being screened at the Senate as the Senate at resumed screening is divided on a motion moved by Senator Darlington Nwokocha,,( LP)Representing Abia Central
In his motion,Wokocha asked the Senate to step down the nomination of Keyamo until the controversy on Public Works was clarified.
Wokocha ‘s motion was seconded by Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe representing Abia South under the All Progressives Grand Alliance.( APGA).
Wokocha also stated that when the issue of public works was discussed in the senate, the Senators invited Keyamo to meet with them but he failed to honour the invitation and rather feigned indifference .
After Abaribe seconded the motion, the Senate President, Senator Godswiill Akpabio asked the rest of the Senators if they agree with the suspension of the screening of Keyamo but there was confusion on the floor resulting in a motion for break after which the Senate wiill go into executive session.
Earlier, the Senate had screened Dr Mariya Mahmoud ,a medical doctor and the Ministerial nominee from Kano state.
Keyamo is the last of the 48 ministerial nominees to be screened by the Senate..
