
The House of Representatives Committee investigating allegations of job racketeering in the Federal Character Commission (FCC) has ordered the arrest of Haruna Kolo, an ex – aide to the Chairman of the Commission .
The Chairman of the Committee, Yusuf Gagdi ordered the warrant of his arrest on Thursday following Kolo’s failure to appear at the resumed hearing.
Kolo had during a hearing on Monday,testified before the Committee and admitted that he collected money from job applicants on behalf of the Chairman of FCC, Muheeba Dankaka.
He said he collected millions from different applicants and remitted them to Ms Dankaka, who swore with the Koran of ever engaging in such acts.
However Kolo ,who is at the centre of investigation has refused to appear before the Committee again .
Following his non-appearance, the Chairman of the Committee directed the clerk to commence the process of an arrest warrant saying “For Haruna Kolo, the position of this committee is that he would lose his freedom. We will issue a warrant of arrest in respect of Haruna Kolo and compel security agencies to present him before this committee at any given period if he is so arrested,”
The committee subsequently adjourned sitting till Monday.
