Twenty four hours after being sworn in to office, the Minister of Defence, Muhammed Badaru Abubakar, and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, have assumed duty promising “remarkable” changes in Nigeria’s security architecture within one year.
The ministers who gave the assurance on Tuesday while addressing journalists at the Ship House, Ministry of Defence, Abuja,said under no circumstances would they betray the trust given to them by President Bola Tinubu.
According to Minister,Badaru, within a year, there will be remarkable changes for the better in the country’s security situation adding that he and Matawalle would do their best to meet the mandate of Tinubu who, along with all Nigerians, are desperate to see a turn around in the nation’s security situation.
Matawalle on his part told journalists that the ministry would spare no efforts in building a strong defence apparatus that would repel any threat .
