The lawmaker representing Ideato North Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Ikenga Ugochinyere has blamed the Governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma for his sack by the Federal and State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Imo state.
The tribunal declared the first runner up and candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC,Chika Abazu as winner on the grounds that the election of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP which produced Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere was invalid.
It also declared a supplementary election in 55 polling units in the Federal Constituency among the remaining candidates.
Addressing a press conference after his removal, Ugochinyere described the Tribunal Judgement as ” playing Akamu with the judiciary”
According to him, the issue at stake was a pre election matter which ought not to lead to his removal from office in the light of previous rulings in higher courts which frown against prying interference with other partiy’s affairs.
Ugochinyere heaped his sack on Uzodinma who, he claimed had boasted to use every available instrument of power and resources on him to remove him from office.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker has vowed to challenge his sack at the Court of Appeal where he hoped to get Justice.
Ugochinyere is the Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum resources Downstream.
