A second victim of the Plateau organ harvesting, 75-year-old man, Ibrahim Ejibade, a resident of William Street in Jos, Plateau State, has accused the detained ‘doctor’, Noah Kekere, popularly known as Yellow, of removing his right kidney during a hernia operation in 2021.
Ejibade said his right kidney was found missing during a scan at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) and at the Rayville Radiology.
This is the second time former patients of Kekere would accuse him of removing their kidneys.
The first was Mrs Khende Kamal who was operated by the Dr for appendectomy . Her husband, Alhaji Kamal arrested Kekere after a scan result showed that her kidney had been removed .
The latest victim, Ejibade, who spoke to journalists in Jos on Sunday said the suspect operated on him after telling him that he had a hernia.
Speaking through his son,Muhammad Sani Ibrahim, Ejibade said that the operation took place in 2021
“Sometime in 2021, our father was taken to Murna Clinic and Maternity Hospital and was eventually operated upon, after which our father continued to complain from one form of problem to another.
“On March 28, 2023, we took him to JUTH for a general checkup and the result of the scanning showed that one of his kidneys had been removed.
“We didn’t want to tell our father then because of his health condition but the doctor categorically told me that the kidney was removed.
“Recently, when we heard of the story of Mrs Kehinde Kamal whose kidney was allegedly removed by the same ‘doctor’, September 13, we decided to go to Rayville Radiology for scanning and the result indicated that his right kidney was removed. Kekere was the ‘doctor’ who operated on my father. We have both results of the scanning with us.”
Muhammad said they would report the case to the police for further action while calling for justice from the relevant authorities.
Lamenting the betrayal, Ejibade said he had trusted Kekere but was surprised he removed his kidney without his knowledge.
In the meantime, police in the state said they have returned Kekere to the cell.
Kekere who went berserk in a cell after his arrest was taken to the Jos University Teaching Hospital,JUTH by the police to get treatment for psychiatric disorders .
Following his arrest and detention, the Nigerian Medical Association NMA, denied Kekere , owner of the Munar Clinic and Maternity, Jos who has operated the clinic for 18 years of being a member.
