The Senator representing Rivers West Senatorial District, Sen. Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo DSSRS has felicitated with Nigerian President, Sen. Bola A.Tinubu ,GCON and members of her Constituents in Rivers West Senatorial District for keeping faith in the Nigerian Project in the face of the current economic pressures confronting the country .
The National Assembly member, who stated this today , Sunday, October Ist ,2023 in a statement to commemorate the 63rd Anniversary of Nigeria urged the people to see this year’s celebration as a period of stock taking and rededication towards the ideals of Nigeria’s founding fathers, who demonstrated unparalleled nationalistic passion and patriotic spirit that led to the freedom of our Nation from the Colonial Masters in the Sixties .
Senator Banigo noted that the number 63, is symbolic as it reminds us of the transition from Independence to a Republic , with the amalgamation of the Northern and Southern Nigeria in 1963 under Lord Lugard .
Dr. Banigo who is also the Chairman of Senate Committee on Health, further explained that Power rotation between the North and South in Nigeria is sacrosanct in building a united , just and sustainable peace, which the Tinubu – administration and the Tenth National Assembly represent .
She commended Nigerians for their resilience and peaceful disposition in spite of the current economic challenges and expressed hope that the country will bounce back.
She called on both Christians and Muslims to continue to pray for divine direction, peace and national rebirth:
“I believe that our beloved Nation will experience a rebirth where Equity , Peace, Prosperity and Joy shall reign supreme in Jesus name” Sen. Banigo declared .
