The Nigerian Police have Commenced investigation into alleged poisoning of Lola Ade – John, the Minister of Tourism.
According to SP Josephine Adeh,Spokesperson of the Federal Capital Territory FCT Command the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Haruna Garba, has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department(SCID) to immediately take over from the Mabushi Police Division, investigation into the alleged poisoning of the Ade-John, who has been hospitalised at the Federal Medical Centre for about five days.
Ade-John, 60, was among 48 ministers appointed by President Bola Tinubu in August,.
Current matters gathered that the minister was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, shortly after she started manifesting symptoms of illness and is still being treated in the hospital.
On Friday, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism,Dr Ngozi Onwudiwe was quoted as disagreeing with family members of the sick Minister about transferring her to a better hospital where she would be given the best treatment but Onwudiwe reportedly insisted that the minister remained in the FMC since it is a public hospital and does not attract much funds to get her treated.
