A High Court sitting in Lagos has sentenced Policeman, ASP Drambi Vandi, to death by hanging for killing a property Lawyer, Omobolanle Raheem.
Delivering her judgement, Justice Ibironke Harrison held that ASP Vandi was guilty of murder declaring “You are to be hanged by the neck until you are dead. May God have mercy on your soul.”
The convict, Vandi had shot 41- year,- old Mrs. Raheem dead in the presence of her husband while returning from church on Christmas Day last year at a Police checkpoint in Lagos.
Raheem, who was pregnant, was killed by Vandi who was attached to the Ajiwe police division in the Ajah area of the state.
Justice Harrison held that the evidence of the 11 witnesses who testified for the prosecution was credible and convincing enough to convict the suspended police officer.
The Killer cop’s tortuous road to death began when the Lagos State government arrainged him before the court on January 16 for allegedly shooting to death the pregnant lawyer at a checkpoint on Christmas Day,2022
