President Bola Tinubu has settled the political crisis between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Nyesom Wike and his political godson , Governor Siminilayi Fubara of Rivers.
The president used the meeting at the villa on Tuesday to settle the rift between the two men..
Earlier on Monday, there were reports of an alleged attempt to impeach the governor by the State House of Assembly which resulted in a cycle of impeachment of some principal officers of the House.
However, some stakeholders blamed Wike , the immediate past governor for the crisis.
Speaking on Arise TV on Tuesday morning, Chief Anabs Sara – Igbe said Wike had denied Fubara the privileges of governing the state by himself.
According to Sara – Igbe, all appointments including personal aides of Fubara were made by the FCT Minister, claiming that the political outbursts on Monday was a liberation for the people of the state.
At the end of the meeting at the villa, the Governor of Bauchi state, Bala Mohammed, told State House correspondents on the outcome of the Police Council’s meeting, held at the State House, Abuja.
The Bauchi governor who is the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDP-GF) disclosed that the opposition governors have resolved to work with the president because he has shown good faith by not interfering with gubernatorial cases brought before the courts by PDP members.
Muhammed also said that one of the highpoints of the meeting was the confirmation of the Kayode Egbetokun as the Inspector General of Police IGP.
