Three months after Cultists killed the DPO in charge of Ahoada East Division, gunmen suspected to be cultists have allegedly killed five persons in the same local government area.
Current matters gathered that the incident took place at Odiemerenyi community on Sunday morning.
Although, details of the group of attackers is sketchy, however, sources in Ahoada East told our reporter that the attack is familiar with the operations of the dreaded Iceland cult gang led by one Gift Okpolowu (aka 2baba), who has been declared wanted for the killing of DPO Bako Angbashim.
Ahoada East is reportedly the epicentre of cult clashes in Rivers State.
In November 2022,a clash between rival cult groups claimed the lives of five people.
On February 14,2023,( Valentine Day ) 9 persons were killed following Rival cult groups clash at Ikata Community of Upata kingdom.
Also,in May this year, a “battle of supremacy’ between two rival cult groups – the Icelanders and Greenlanders at the East West Road section of Ahoada East lga,left 3 cultists dead.
In September, the cultists took the war to the police killing DPO Bako Agbashim whose killers are yet to be apprehended inspite of bounty placed on the kingpin,Two Baba by the state government.
