The Senator Representing Rivers West Senatorial District, Dame Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo DSSRS has been conferred with the Prestigious Award as _The Platinum Defensor of Niger Delta Diocese .
The Award was presented by the Diocesan Bishop of Niger Delta Diocese, Rt. Rev.Dr. Emmanuel Okwuchi Oko-Jaja Jp, DSSRS in a colourful Award Night & Thanksgiving Service respectively organized in PH at the weekend .
According to Bishop Oko-Jaja, the Honour to the Distinguished Senator was in recognition of her immensed contributions towards the development and progress of the Diocese..
The Bishop further explained that the Award was to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Niger Delta Diocese, stressing that Senator Banigo has continually supported the Church and promoted the Gospel of Soul winning as a Children Teacher , Preacher and Philanthropy .
According to a statement by Precious Abia, the Press Secretary to the Senator,other Dignitaries that were presented with Merit Awards by the Church are :Governor of Rivers State,Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS and the former Governor of Rivers State, Sir Peter Odili GSSRS; both of whom were represented at the occasion .
Sen. Banigo was represented at the events by Pastor Paul Damgbor, Director Documentation, Office of the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, the statement said.
