Senate has donated 109 million naira to victims of accidental army air strike at Tudun Biri village in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The donation which is for the welfare of the victims is the December Salaries of Senators,Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin said
Jibrin announced the donation when he led other principal officers and senators on a condolence visit to Governor Uba Sani at the State Government House on Sunday.
Representing the Senate President, Senator Godswiill Akpabio, Jibrin sympathised with the Kaduna State government and the people of Tudun Biri community over the tragic incident and assured that the National Assembly will work in partnership with the Presidency to unravel the circumstances surrounding the accidental bombing of innocent civilians at Tudun Biri village to forestall a recurrence.
In his response,Governor Sani thanked the senators for their show of empathy for the victims of the military airstrike, and called on the National Assembly to support the Federal Government’s initiative to investigate the bomb incident.
The governor also appealed to the federal lawmakers to review the Bill on creation of state police.to strengthen security management in the country.
