..as commissioner for Special Duties Reportedly Tenders Resignation .
Prof . Zacchaeus Adangor SAN, the Rivers State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, has resigned from office.
The Professor of Law tendered his letter of resignation to Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Thursday.
The letter tagged‘Notice of Resignation as Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Rivers State states “I hereby give your Excellency notice of my resignation as the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Rivers State with effect from the date of this letter.
“For the avoidance of doubt, my resignation from the said office is based purely on personal principles.”
“My family and I are indebted to Your Excellency in gratitude. I wish your Excellency a successful tenure. Please accept the assurances of my highest regards always.”
Adango served in the Nyesom Ezenwo Wike ‘s administration and was reappointed to serve in the government of Wike’s successor, Governor Siminilayi. Fubara.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Emeka Woke is said to have also resigned from office.
Woke was the Chief of Staff to Wike for 8 years until May 29 2023.
An attempt by current matters to independently verify claims of Woke’s resignation, was not totally successful as two sources in the government house gave conflicting reports.
The first source claimed that Woke indeed resigned but the second said that there was no official report but there are rumours relating to that.
