Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara said there is no price too great for him to pay to achieve peace in the state.
He made this known on Tuesday while addressing the 3 Convocation and Founder’s Day ceremonies at the Pamo University of Medical Sciences.
Fubara, the Special Visitor to the institution who told his audience that he wouldl abide by the president’s resolutions reiterated his commitment to paying the price for peace to reign in the state.
He thanked the people of the state for the tremendous support for him within the period of the crisis saying it” is immeasurable”
Recall that the governor fell out with his predecessor,Nyesom Wike late September resulting in a crisis that engulfed the State House of Assembly, leading to its demolition.
During the period, 27 lawmakers defected to the All Progressives Congress APC with one making a U-turn to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
The crisis also saw mass resignations of commissioners from the State Executive Council.
Meanwhile, Fubara has been commended for the decisions he has taken so far since his inauguration in May.
Former Governor of Rivers state,Dr Peter Odili,founder of the institution who made the commendation said the ” governor has hit the ground running,A good dance begins with the first step. Your first steps are correct.
“There is no doubt that you will dance well” he said
Odili told Governor Fubara that governance is not an easy business saying Pamo University will continue to pray for him.
